Ready Set Eat Addy 2018

Out of all the recipe sites you know, only one knows you. It's Ready Set Eat.

Out of all the recipe sites you know, only one knows you. It's Ready Set Eat.

Your best friend has a broccoli phobia, her new boyfriend is allergic to tree nuts, and your oldest daughter is experimenting with a gluten-free lifestyle. It’s hard to cook a special dish for every person at the table. But we’ve created a stunning recipe site that does just that.

Ready Set Eat has become customized to each of its food-loving followers. Serving up more of what they like, and less of what they don’t. Starting with new recipes and flavors and finishing with enticing photography and food styling. Ready Set Eat has pivoted gracefully from run-of-the-mill 30-minute meals for busy families to creative, tasteful recipes tailored to you, yes you. Now, out of all the recipes sites you know, only one knows you. It’s Ready Set Eat.

Getting to know you.

Getting to know you.

Roughly 85 million people visit recipe sites throughout the year. How did we make our visitors feel like one in 85 million instead of 1 of 85 million? How did we find out what they really wanted? It’s simple. We asked.

How did we ask, you ask? We gamified the sign in process, turning it into a fun, clickable quiz. Then we dug deep to find out what exactly to ask in said clickable quiz. We broke it down into 6 themes.

Who are you?

Who are you?

The first question is focused on you, and the lucky people you cook for. By finding out how big or small your family is we can better tailor recipes to you. Casseroles for one are not a thing… yet. Oh, and birthday information, that’s for birthday surprises, of course.

What are your skills?

What are your skills?

We have a wide range of recipes. To find out which ones you’d like to try, we’ve gotta know how confident you are in the kitchen. There’s no darn need to show you a 7-step Vietnamese spring roll recipe when you’d rather start off with the simpler like grilled shrimp.

What’s your cooking style?

What’s your cooking style?

This is the part of the quiz when we get to know just how adventurous you are. And you get to play with these sliders (not the food kind). If the kitchen is your happy place, tell us about it. If it scares you as much as skydiving, or trying new foods, we can help you get more comfortable.

Which cuisines are you into?

Which cuisines are you into?

Here’s where it gets really clicky… or tappy… depending on which device you’re using. Show us which types of dishes you like to eat the most, and get excited about cooking them yourself. Best part? You can click them all if you want.

What are your diet preferences?

What are your diet preferences?

We are super polite. We’d never host an all-meat BBQ if we know a no-meat eater was on the guest list. That would be embarrassing. So, here’s where we find out about your preferences, and avoid any future awkward situations.

What’s not your fave?

What’s not your fave?

If there are ingredients you’re not that into, let us know. Once you do you’ll start to see less of what you don’t like, and more of what you do like. That was easy, right?

Just what you wanted

Just what you wanted

Using what we learned about our food-loving visitors we serve up reimagined content from the hundreds of recipes at our fingertips. Content both beautiful and relevant to your style and tastes. You know, like a real friend who actually listens. Now, if only your human friends knew you this well. How many times have you told Kevin you don’t eat seafood?!
