FEED THE BEAST

FEED THE BEAST

Imagine your imagination. Can you picture it? Yeah? Right on. The reality is, YOU didn’t have a choice. Because there’s something inside of you that’s making you do it. Whoa, totally meta right? It doesn’t give a f*&k about what YOU think. Because IT thinks for you. It isn’t scared of opinions, Or whether or not it’s getting a full 8 hours of sleep. It just wants to create. Better yet, it NEEDS to create. What would happen if we all gave in And let these crazy creatures inside us roam free?

THE PROBLEM

THE PROBLEM

Award shows in Cincinnati have lost their integrity, relevance, and importance over the years, contributing to a creative community that has grown rather lethargic about its work, and place in the advertising industry.

THE OBJECTIVE

THE OBJECTIVE

Restore a sense of competition and collaboration through pride in our work while elevating our community in the national conversation about advertising and award winning creative. Be known as the destination for ideas, brands, and talent as we turn heads in the advertising world through our work and creative ideas.

THE INSIGHT

THE INSIGHT

What was once considered a vibrant community, Cincinnati has lost its swagger in the advertising industry. Prioritization of data, consultancies, faster and cheaper processes have devalued creativity and it has made it difficult for us to remember why we fell in love with advertising in the first place. An imbalance of importance on numbers over ideas have marginalized us as a creative culture and we have begun to believe that our voice is no longer needed. What was once a proud and competitive creative community, has now become a production afterthought in the advertising world, and in our own city.

THE SOLUTION

THE SOLUTION

Remind ourselves why we fell in love with creativity, and celebrate work that is impossible to ignore. We will redefine advertising in our city through a rebirth of pride, and unite to disrupt this industry with ideas that incite creative chaos and anarchy. We will prove to the entire world what we have known all along. Cincinnati is nasty and has swagger.

THE WORK

THE WORK

For the 2019 Cincinnati Addy Awards, we opened the creation of the show up to the entire city. Calling all creatives to imagine what their “creative monster” looks like through illustration, photography, and design. All of the pieces and monsters created were used leading up to and during the show in all of our communication points. Digital billboards, social media, show bumpers and reel, posters, postcards, emails, and the show book all featured monsters created by people throughout the Cincinnati creative community, making last year’s Addys show, the most collaborative and shared experience in the history of our ad club.
